DC Court of Appeals
[edit]I recently expanded the article on the District of Columbia Court of Appeals to include its early judges, and I was wondering, BD2412, if you had any input on their suitability for articles. Court was created as the Municipal Court of Appeals in 1942, renamed as the Court of Appeals in 1962, and given final authority on local law (e.g. made the equivalent of a state supreme court) in 1970. The seven early judges without an article, with an obituary (of whom one was still on the court in 1970, three others served as senior judges post-1970 [1], and the other three died in office earlier):
- William E. Richardson (chief 1942-1945) [2][3]
- Nathan Cayton (associate 1942-1946, chief 1946-1956, senior as of 1972) [4]
- Andrew M. Hood (associate 1942-1960, chief 1961-1972, senior as of 1972) at least notable for serving post-1970
- Brice Clagett (associate 1946-1951) [5]
- Thomas D. Quinn (associate 1951-1966, senior as of 1972) [6]
- Leo A. Rover (chief 1956-1960) at least notable for Teapot Dome prosecution
- Frank H. Myers (associate 1962-1969, senior as of 1972) [none found]
